Resumen de El chernobyl chileno: movilización anti extractivista en la zona de sacrificio de quintero-puchuncaví

Las localidades de Ventanas y Quintero pasaron de ser apacibles lugares de veraneo a convertirse en una zona de sacrificio más que acumula nuestro país, donde las comunas hacen noticia por la contaminación que afecta gravemente a los niños, como por los altos índices de dióxido de azufre, trióxido de azufre, arsénico y material particulado 2.5. Esta investigación busca analizar el movimiento ambientalista de Quintero y Puchuncaví desde sus propios activistas y en el marco del estallido social y posterior pandemia del COVID-19. Mediante entrevistas en profundidad a los activistas de la zona, y análisis de datos secundarios como prensa nacional o artículos, se busca triangular información para dar cuenta de la situación actual del movimiento socioambiental y contra el modelo extractivo. Los resultados revelan los vínculos y solidaridades entre activistas diversos y repertorios de diferente tipo que se desarrollan para desplegar la lucha medioambiental en el territorio.

Ventanas and Quintero towns were peaceful summer spots at the beginning, and they transformed to another slaughter area accumulated by Chile, where the area makes news for the pollution that seriously affects children, as well as for the high levels of sulfur dioxide, sulfur trioxide, arsenic and particulate matter 2.5. This research seeks to analyze the Puchuncavi and Quintero environmental movement from its own activists and within the framework of the social outbreak and subsequent pandemic of COVID-19. Through in-depth interviews with activists in the area and analysis of secondary data such as the national press or papers, which aims to triangulate information to account for the current situation of the socio-environmental movement and against the extractive model.
Outcomes show links and solidarity between different types of activists and repertoires that they develop for the environmental fight in the territory.
