Según algunos autores, el nacimiento de la posfotografía supone la muerte de la fotografía, creando dos categorías enfrentadas y supuestamente incompatibles. Sin embargo, también hay autores que niegan la ruptura, apostando por una continuidad en el medio fotográfico. Mientras tanto, la práctica artística demuestra que la realidad es rica y compleja, pudiendo hablarse de varias fotografías.
In the 1990s, people began to talk about post-photography, a hypothetical new aesthetic and conceptual category associated with the internet and digital technology. According to some authors, the birth of post-photography supposes the death of photography, creating two opposed and supposedly incompatible categories. However, there are also authors who deny the break, betting on a continuity in the photographic medium. Meanwhile, artistic practice shows that reality is rich and complex, being able to speak of several photographs.
