  Este artigo se propõe a refletir especificamente sobre o branco e a virada da página nas diferentes edições de FLICTS, de Ziraldo. Publicado originalmente em 1969, o livro foi o primeiro livro-álbum (picture book ou livro ilustrado) brasileiro, linguagem em que palavras, imagens e projeto gráfico constroem sentido. O livro sofreu grandes alterações em suas diferentes edições, as quais interferem significativamente em sua narrativa. Neste artigo, as versões são comparadas e analisadas com a intenção de evidenciar a importância do branco e da virada da página, ou seja, do espaço vazio e da composição/decupagem na construção de significado.

  This article intends to reflect specifically upon the blank space and the turn of page in different editions of FLICTS, by Ziraldo. Originally published in 1969, the book was the first Brazilian picture book, a language in which words, imagens and graphic design together build up meaning. The book suffered a great amount of changes in its different editions, which tremendously interfere to the narrative. In this article, the different versions are compared and analysed with the intention of putting light on the relevance of white space and the turn of page, this is, the empty space and composition for creating meaning.
