El objetivo del artículo es indagar las posibilidades metodológicas de la imaginación en la solución de problemas matemáticos originados en situaciones físicas. Para ello, se utiliza el método de inducción matemática comparándolo con el método intuitivo. Se concluye que la intuición es un camino rápido y elegante que limita el margen de incertidumbre que nospueden dejar los largos procesos analíticos.

The objective of this article is to inquire themethodological possibilities of the imagination in the mathematical problem solving originated in phyics situations. To this effect, the method of mathematical induction is used, comparing it with the intuitive method.
