El presente trabajo de investigación tiene como objetivo principal comparar la competitividad del sector turismo en los estados de Sinaloa y Quintana Roo, México. De acuerdo a la literatura especializada en el tema, los principales autores citados son: Krugman, 1997; Krugman, Fujita y Venables, 2000; Porter, 1998; Porter, 1999; Krugman y Venables, 1995. Asimismo, se realizó una investigación de corte cuantitativo longitudinal de los principales indicadores de competitividad propuestos por Dupeyras y MacCallum (2013). Los resultados obtenidos indican que la infraestructura y el desarrollo de una marca de destino constituyen una ventaja competitiva.

The main objective of this research work is to compare the competitiveness of the tourism sector in the states of Sinaloa and Quintana Roo, Mexico. According to the literature specialized in the subject, the main authors cited are: Krugman, 1997; Krugman, Fujita and Venables, 2000; Porter, 1998; Porter, 1999; Krugman and Venables, 1995. Likewise, a quantitative longitudinal investigation was made of the main competitiveness indicators proposed by Dupeyras and MacCallum (2013). The results obtained indicate that the infrastructure and the development of a destination brand constitute a competitive advantage.
