Resumen de Uber, la alegoría de la impotencia del Estado (y de su necesidad)

La empresa Uber fue fundada como UberCab (2009), pero la protesta de los taxistas de San Francisco redujo su nombre al actual. Desde sus orígenes, los taxistas son, con sus críticas y huelgas, su principal canal publicitario y, además, gratuito. Así ha sucedido en todos los lugares a los que llega. En España ha quedado acreditado con el paro y las manifestaciones de las pasadas semanas y con las nuevas que se anuncian. También la reacción de las Administraciones contribuye al éxito. Es la alegoría del momento presente. La impotencia del Estado y de su regulación frente a fenómenos que tienen dos señas básicas: la globalización y la interconexión de millones de usuarios utilizando las redes móviles. Una vez más, el mercado y sus libertades hacen de la destrucción creativa el caldo de cultivo de un cambio que, incluso, ha de afectar al Estado y a su manera de afrontar la ordenación de las actividades económicas.

The Uber Company was founded as UberCab (2009), but protests organized by San Francisco taxi-drivers reduced its name to its current formulation. Taxi-drivers with their critics and demonstrations have been, from the very outset, its main advertising channel, a free one by the way. Similar events have taken place wherever this enterprise appears. Spain, where demonstrations and strikes have occurred and will go on taking place, is a good example. The way Public Administrations have reacted has contributed to its success. We face the allegory of present times watching the helplessness of the State and its regulations when it comes to phenomena sharing two basic characteristics: globalization and the interconnection of millions of users utilizing mobile networks. Once again, markets and their freedoms have turned creative destruction into the breeding ground of a change that will even affect the State and its way of facing the management of economic activities
