Resumen de Cambio climático y derechos humanos en el contexto del Sistema Interamericano de Derechos Humanos

  El artículo ofrece una breve descripción de cómo el cambio climático comienza a convertirse en una de las principales preocupaciones de los organismos de supervisión de derechos humanos. En ese sentido el texto describe brevemente primero, como el sistema universal lo ha empezado a abordar a través de sus órganos regulares y sus mecanismos especiales. Por su parte en una primera lectura, el Sistema Europeo ha revisado el tema ambiental a través de distintos casos, no obstante, las cortes locales han sido más certeras al asignar obligaciones a los Estados en virtud de sus compromisos internacionales. Finalmente, desde la perspectiva del Sistema Interamericano, a más de ciertos casos que se han tratado sobre el tema; existe un considerable acervo normativo que respalda las obligaciones más generales para los Estados en aspectos ambientales.

  The article gives a brief description on how climate change begins to pan out in one of the main concerns of human rights oversight bodies. In this first approach, the article first dives into how the universal human rights system has approached this matter from their regular mechanisms and through their special mechanisms. Later on, in a first glance of the European Human Rights System has taken on environmental matters through a couple of cases, however it has been local courts who have been more active in assigning liabilities in regards to the lack of climate action. Finally from the perspective of the Interamerican System, although there is some cases on the matter, there is a considerable groups of norms that line up the general obligations for States in environmental issues.
