La historiografia sobre el règim del Consell de Cent

    El objetivo de esta ponencia es ofrecer una síntesis de la evolución historiográfica tejida en torno a la institución barcelonesa del Consejo de Ciento a lo largo de los últimos siglos. Habiendo constatado que los investigadores actuales aprecian poco ese trabajo acumulado, se intenta mostrar el peso real de las construcciones elaboradas por los grandes historiadores del pasado sobre las nuevas investigaciones y los inconvenientes de ignorar el contexto original de aquellas visiones. De la extensa bibliografía sobre el régimen municipal barcelonés, se destacan, en calidad de clásicos, los siguientes autores: Bruniquer i Xammar, en la primera mitad del siglo XVII; Capmany, en el último tercio del XVIII y en el momento de la revolución liberal; Sanpere i Miquel, cien años más tarde; Carreras i Candi, en los primeros años del siglo XX; Vicens i Vives, en los decenios centrales del mismo siglo; y Font i Rius, desde mediados del XX hasta la actualidad.

    The objective of this talk is to offer a synthesis of the historiographic evolution woven around the Barcelonan institution of the Council of One Hundred throughout these past centuries. Having seen that present day researchers have little appreciation for this accumulated work, this is an attempt to show the real weight of the constructs set forth by the great historians of the past in new studies and the pitfalls of ignoring the original context of those visions. From the extensive bibliography on the Barcelona municipal regime, the following authors stand out as classics: Esteve Gilabert Bruniquer and Joan Pau Xammar, both from the first half of the 17th century; Antoni de Capmany, from the last third of the 18th century and in the moment of the liberal revolution; Salvador Sanpere i Miquel, one hundred years later; Francesc Carreras i Candi, in the first years of the 20th century; Jaume Vicens i Vives, in the middle decades of the same century; and Josep Maria Font i Rius, from the mid 20th century to the present.
