    Hay recientemente una tendencia al cuestionamiento de la racionalidad como una explicación infalible, totalizadora y cerrada. Este trabajo pretende responder a las preguntas ¿qué entendemos por racionalidad?, y ¿cuál es la relación entre racionalidad y trastorno mental? Para eso se parte del concepto de conciencia, que es previo y sine qua non al de racionalidad, y se analizan los factores individuales y psicosociales que pueden llevar a lo que denominamos dementia rationalis.

    Recently, there is a tendency to question rationality as an infallible, total and absolute explanation of reality. This text will attempt to answer the questions: what do we understand as rationality? and:

    what is the relationship between rationality and mental disorder? To answer this, we start with the concept of conscience which is previous and sine qua non to the concept of rationality, and then analyse the individual and psychosocial reasons which could cause what we call dementia rationalis.
