    Se reúnen las principales fuentes griegas y latinas que describen las columnas de avance del ejército hacia la batalla, o bien cuando un ejército ha de trasladarse de una a otra parte por razones tácticas. Cada columna de marcha ha de adaptarse a las circunstancias y al territorio que han de atravesar. Pero el orden obedece casi siempre a patrones comunes. La formación es generalmente en columna, agmen quadratum. En el centro, siempre bien protegidos, van los mandos y el águila, la insignia sagrada de la legión. En el presente trabajo ofrecemos la versión española de un capítulo del Strategikos de Onasandro, un texto fundamental donde se leen consejos para los generales romanos que han de conducir sus tropas por tierras hostiles.

    We gather the main Greek and Latin sources that describe the columns of the army's advance towards the battle, or when an army has to move from one place to another for tactical reasons. Each March column must adapt to the circumstances and territory to be crossed. But order almost always obeys common patterns. In the center, always well protected, go the controls and the aquila, the sacred insignia of the legion. In this paper we offer the Spanish version of a chapter of the Strategikos of Onasander, a fundamental text where advice is read for Roman generals who have to lead their troops through hostile lands.
