    El artículo aborda el tema de la verdad en la obra de Franz Brentano. Sin dejar de reconocer el carácter fragmentario, no sistemático, ni definitivo de su ‘teoría de la verdad’, la propuesta consiste en reconstruir su posición, dispersa en conferencias, cartas y manuscritos, y mostrar la riqueza de sus entramadas reflexiones, que interpretaremos como una suerte de ‘descripción fenomenológica’ del aparecer de la verdad en sus formas más elementales. Primero, analizaremos su conocida conferencia de 1889, en donde cuestiona críticamente las limitaciones inherentes a la clásica versión de la verdad en tanto adaequatio, y presenta, in nuce, ciertos aspectos que serán desarrollados en escritos posteriores, tales como la relación entre verdad e intuición. Segundo, nos detendremos en su teoría del juicio para señalar su concepción de que el juicio existencial es la forma fundamental de todo juicio (y no el juicio predicativo) y que la verdad se funda sobre la base de dicho juicio existencial. Tercero, mostraremos cómo en sus últimos escritos, Brentano asocia la verdad con el concepto de evidencia. Presentaremos su concepción de la verdad en tanto dación de algo en evidencia a partir del juicio existencial, presupuesto fundamental de cualquier concepción teórica de la verdad.

    The article addresses the issue of truth in Franz Brentano’s work. Without disregarding the fragmentary, unsystematic, and non-definitive character of his ‘theory of truth’, the following proposal consists in gathering and reconstructing his position as presented in conferences, letters and manuscripts, and then showing the richness of his tangle reflections, which I will interpret as a sort of ‘phenomenological description’ of the appearance of truth in its most elementary forms. First, I will analyze his wellknown conference from 1889, in which he critically addresses the conceptual limitations of the classical version of truth as adaequatio, and presents, in nuce, some aspects that will be further developed in later writings, such as the relation between truth and intuition. Second, I will focus on his theory of judgment in order to point out his conception that the existential judgment is the most fundamental form of judgment (and not the predicative judgment) and that truth rests in the end upon such existential judgments. Third, I will show how in his last writings, Brentano associates truth with his concept of evidence. I will present his conception of truth as the givenness of something with evidence by means of the existential judgment, basic presupposition for any possible theoretical conception of truth.
