Resumen de Los insultos como herramienta persuasiva: desde los expedientes inquisitoriales a la actual didáctica de la lengua castellana

Throughout the pages of processes against the Judaizers living in Medinaceli, especially those ones dated in the last decade of the 15th century, the defense counsel uses insults, in order to discredit the witnesses presented by the prosecution. After a few brief notes on the legal procedure of the Holy Office, the offensive terms, recorded in the files, are shown, without any kind of censorship. At this point, it is worth asking what leads the defense lawyer to resort, as a persuasive tool, to these words and to what extent they were aware of the formal record to which the inquisitorial summary is circumscribed. Among the main goals of this paper, which is eminently descriptive, it addresses the complicated world of the linguistic register in the Spanish language and, more specifically, the world of profanity. In this case, it is necessary to insist on the circumstances and environments in which they are used, in order to teach students in what the register or use of the terms consists. It goes without saying that didactics in this aspect is urgent, since Spanish as a Second Language students always know the most vulgar and rude terms.

A los largo de los folios de procesos contra los judaizantes de Medinaceli, especialmente aquellos fechados en el último decenio del siglo XV, se recurre al insulto por parte de la defensa de los acusados, a fin de desacreditar a los testigos presentados por la fiscalía. Tras unos breves apuntes del procedimiento legal del Santo Oficio, se dan a conocer, sin ningún tipo de censura, los términos ofensivos, registrados en los expedientes. En este punto cabe preguntarse qué lleva al abogado defensor a recurrir, como herramienta persuasiva, a estas palabras y hasta qué punto se era consciente del registro formal al que queda circunscrito el sumario inquisitorial. Entre los objetivos de este trabajo, eminentemente descriptivo, aborda el complicado mundo del registro en la lengua castellana y, más concretamente, del mundo de los denuestos. En este caso, hay que insistir en las circunstancias y ambientes en los que se emplean, al objeto de enseñar a los estudiantes en qué consiste el uso o registro de los términos. Huelga indicar que es urgente una didáctica en este aspecto, puesto que los alumnos de ELE siempre conocen los términos más procaces y groseros.
