Las ediciones de Pedro Lozano. Las reediciones y la construcción historiográfica de su figura en los siglos XIX y XX.

    En este trabajo pretendemos concentrarnos en los momentos de edición y reedición de las cuatro obras his-tóricas de Pedro Lozano, quien había sido designado historiogrphus provinciae de la Provincia del Paraguay en 1730: la Descripción del Chaco, la Historia de las revoluciones del Paraguay, la Historia de la conquista del Paraguay, Río de la Plata y Tucumán yla Historia de la Compañía de Jesús en la Provincia del Paraguay. Este trabajo tiene origen en nuestros estudios doctorales en los cuales analizamos la producción historiográfica de Pedro Lozano; de dicho trabajo se desprende el presente estudio ya que creemos que las reediciones de sus obras durante los siglos XIX y XX contribuyeron a forjar la figura de Lozano como una de las fundantes de la historiografía colonial. Abordando este análisis desde una perspectiva que considera que los discursos jesuíticos se construyeron al asociar la realidad con los textos en los que fijó la misma, según modelos discur-sivos y delimitaciones intelectuales propios de cada situación de escritura. Por esto nos proponemos analizar el momento en que fueron editadas y reeditadas durante los siglos XVIII, XIX y XX las obras seleccionadas, para ver el sentido, la necesidad y su significancia en cada momento histórico de dichas ediciones.

    In this paper, we focus on the time of publication and reprinting of the four historical works by the historian of the Province of Paraguay Pedro Lozano: the Description of the Chaco, the History of the Revolutions of Paraguay, the History of the Conquest of Paraguay, Rio de la Plata and Tucuman and the History of the Society of Jesus in the Province of Paraguay. This work is rooted in our doctoral studies where we analyze the historiographical production of Pedro Lozano, to describe the performance of the Jesuits and some conflicting events in the Jesuit Province of Paraguay. The present study shows as we believe the reissues of his works during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries helped to shape the figure of Lozano as one of the founding of colonial historiography. Approaching this analysis from a perspective that considers the Jesuit speeches will be constructed by associating reality with texts that fixed it, according discursive models and own intellectual boundaries of different writing. We analyze the moment that were published or reprinted during the eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth centuries the selected works, to see the meaning, the need and significance at every historical moment of these issues.
