Las relaciones de proclamaciones reales de la segunda mitad del siglo XVIII en el reino de Guatemala —que abarca los reinados de Fernando VI, Carlos III y Carlos IV— presentan características distintivas respecto de la tradición peninsular. Este artículo pretende demostrar cómo el ritual festivo barroco y sus prácticas de escritura se amoldaron a las condiciones de una región periférica del imperio hispánico.
The relations of royal proclamations of the second half of the eighteenth century in the kingdom of Guatemala —which includes the reigns of Fernando VI, Carlos III and Carlos IV— present distinctive features with respect to the peninsular tradition. This article aims to demonstrate how the baroque festive ritual and its writing practices conformed to the conditions of a peripheral region of the Hispanic empire.
