An ontological approach to works of art should not lead to the dismissal which modernity reserves for anything to do with the verb "to be": for the impression of beauty left by works of art relies on the ontological dimension to which it gives momentum. Ultimately, Kantian aesthetics and Simon- don's allagmatic approach to the ontological nature of phenomenological interpretations are not antagonistic.
