  Multitud de autores han definido qué es una imagen (Martin, 1996; Moles, 1991;

  Prieto, 2008; Thibault-Laulan, 1973; Valls, 2002) y casi todas las definiciones la presentan como un tipo de copia o semejanza con la realidad. Aunque la imagen es representación, ella misma también es un objeto, por lo que se hace necesario analizar no solo lo que representa sino también el contexto en el que se ubica (Méndez Suárez, 2015). Este capítulo explora la percepción de las imágenes artísticas a través de las reproducciones de obras de arte en la cultura visual contemporánea. El alumnado, sumergido en la cultura visual artística y a través del aprendizaje en el aula, las percibe, las siente, las entiende y, finalmente, las interpreta y manipula.

  Asimismo, la mirada del propio docente, su forma de sentir, entender y desentrañar el proceso de aprendizaje de su alumnado se convierte en un elemento decisivo en este proceso creativo.

  perceiving an image A multitude of authors have defined what an image is (Martin, 1996; Moles, 1991;

  Prieto, 2008; Thibault-Laulan, 1973; Valls, 2002) and almost all definitions present images as a type of copy or approximation of reality. Although an image is a representation, it is also an object in itself, which makes it necessary to analyze not only what it represents but also the context in which it is located (Mendez-Suarez, 2015).

  This chapter explores the phenomenon of the perception of artistic reality by means of images that reproduce works of art in contemporary visual culture. Students, immersed in visual-artistic culture, perceive it, feel it, understand it through their learning in the classroom, and, finally, they interpret it and manipulate it. Similarly, the viewpoint of the teacher themselves, their way of feeling, understanding, and dissecting the students’ learning process becomes a decisive element in this creative process
