    Diferentes leyes del País Vasco (e.g. 711990 de Patrimonio Cultural, 16/1994 de Conservación de la Naturaleza y, 3/1998 de Protección del medioambiente) están desfasadas respecto a la legislación española (e.g. Ley 42/2007) y a las recomendaciones europeas (e.g. REC 2004-3) relacionadas con la geodiversidad y el patrimonio geológico. Se reflexiona sobre la necesidad de garantizar la inclusion de la Geodiversidad en futuras leyes del País Vasco. Así mismo, se propone la conveniencia de crear un Observatorio y un Plan de Acción para la Geodiversidad en el País Vasco.

    Sorne laws in the Basque Country (e.g., 711990 on Cultural Heritage, 1611994 on Nature Preservation and 311998 for Environment Protection) may be presently regarded as outdated with respect to the new Spanish legislation (e.g. law 4212007) and the European recommendations (e.g. RBC 2004-3) in relation with the geodiversity and the geological heritage. We provide here some indications in the need to ensure the inclusion of Geodiversity notions in fature laws of the Basque Country legislation. Also, we advocate the convenience for the creation of and Observatory and Action Plan on Geodiversity for the Basque Country.
