La imagen de las víctimas de los atentados de París, Niza y Cataluña en las portadas de tres diarios internacionales de referencia: 'Le Figaro', 'The Times' y 'The New York Times'

    La cobertura gráfica de los atentados terroristas pone a los medios impresos ante el dilema de con qué imagen llevar a la portada del día siguiente el dolor de ese tipo de sucesos manteniendo el respeto a las víctimas y a sus seres queridos. En este contexto, se indaga en el tratamiento gráfico de las víctimas –heridos y fallecidos- de tres de los últimos atentados terroristas acontecidos en Europa (París, Niza y Cataluña) a través de las imágenes publicadas en tres diarios internacionales de referencia (Le Figaro, The Times y The New York Times). Se acomete una lectura fotográfica, prestando atención tanto al contenido visual como textual. Se observa que, en general, se respeta a las víctimas, apostando por su tratamiento indirecto y elementos como el camión en el caso de Niza cobran valor por sí mismos para transmitir y plasmar la tragedia, y palabras como masacre o terror son recurrentes en los textos que acompañan a las imágenes

    The graphic coverage of the terrorist attacks puts the print media before the dilemma of what image to bring to the cover of the next day the pain of this type of event while maintaining respect for the victims and their families. In this context, the graphic treatment of the victims - wounded and deceased - of three of the latest terrorist attacks in Europe (Paris, Nice and Catalonia) is investigated through images published in three leading international newspapers (Le Figaro , The Times and The New York Times). A photographic reading is undertaken, paying attention to both visual and textual content. It is observed that, in general, the victims are respected, betting on their indirect treatment and elements such as the truck in the case of Nice acquire value by themselves to transmit and capture the tragedy, and words such as massacre or terror are recurrent in the text that accompanying the images.
