La Córdoba islámica, prácticamente en todas sus diferentes facetas, ha sido tratada extensamente, tanto en la historiografía clásica sobre al-Andalus y Córdoba como en la actual generación de trabajos, que ha atesorado los avances en el conocimiento arqueológico y de ediciones textuales de las últimas décadas. Lejos de cualquier afán de ser exhaustivo, con este trabajo pretendo hacer una breve introducción, que sirva de estímulo o invitación a descubrir el arte, la arquitectura y el urbanismo de la Córdoba islámica.

Virtually all facets of Islamic Cordova have been treated extensively, both in the classical historiography about al-Andalus and Cordova and in the current generation of works, which count on the advances in archaeological knowledge and textual editions of the last decades. This work is intended as a brief introduction, which can serve as an invitation to discover the art, architecture and urbanism of the Islamic Cordoba, without any wish to be exhaustive, which would be impossible given the number of important studies dedicated to these topics during the last decades.
