Dentro de los elementos militares actvos que fueron protagonistas en la Guerra Civil española, la aviación fue quizás una de las más revolucionarias y estratégicamente importantes del conficto.
El poderío aéreo del bando nacional en la campaña del norte, choca drástcamente con la escasez técnica y operatva de los bandos leales a la república, los cuales sin apenas ayuda del resto de la república y países extranjeros (o al menos no comparable a la ayuda recibida del bando nacional), tuvieron que poner en marcha la creación de polítcas e infraestructuras para poder hacer frente a las tan temidas aviaciones fascistas. En el presente trabajo veremos qué papel jugó la burocracia vasca en la obtención de aeroplanos y analizaremos los aeródromos que se adaptaron o construyeron a lo largo del frente vizcaíno desde el inicio de la contenda, hasta la caída del Gran Bilbao en junio de 1937.

Among the leading actve military elements in the Spanish Civil War, aviaton was perhaps one of the most revolutonary and strategically important component during the confict. The air power of the natonal side in the northern ofensive collides drastcally with the technical and operatonal shortage of the loyal sides to the republic. These, with hardly any help from the rest of the republic and foreign countries, had to put in place the creaton of policies and infrastructures in order to face the fascist air forces. This work explores the role that the Basque bureaucracy played obtaining airplanes. Besides, the aerodromes that were adapted or built along the Biscayan front between the start of the war, untl the downfall of Bilbao in June of 1937 are going to be analysed.

Gudu Zibilean aurkitu ditzakegun elementu militar aktbo garrantzitsuenen artean, abiazioa, agian, militarki iraultzaileenetariko eta estrategikoenetariko bat izan zen. Bando nazionalak airean zuen nagusitasuna deigarria da iparraldeko errepublikaren aire-ahalmen eskasaren aurrean, bai teknikoa bai operatboa. Apenas gobernu zentral errepublikarraren eta atzerriaren laguntza sendorik gabe (ez behintzat bando nazionalak jasotako laguntzaren tankerakoa), hainbat politka eta azpiegitura proiektu martxan jarri behar izan zituzten etsaiaren abiazioari aurre egitearren. Lan honetan, batetk, Euzkal Gobernuak kanpotk hegazkinak lortzeko zer saiakera egin zituen ikusiko da eta, bestaldetk, gudan zehar egokitutako edo eraikitako aerodromoen inguruko azterketa sakona egingo da, zehatz mehatz, gatazkaren hasieratk 1937ko ekainean Bilboko metropolia jausi arte garaturikoak.
