Resumen de Trinidad, retos y desafíos de un modelo turístico de patrimonio cultural en Cuba

  En Trinidad se conjugan como en pocos lugares de Cuba elementos físicos, naturales, históricos y culturales que son ideales para el desarrollo de las múltiples modalidades del turismo. Los avances en la política interior y exterior de Cuba han resultado en la potenciación de las pequeñas empresas privadas y la apertura del mercado inmobiliario, que, si bien generan benéficos económicos y sociales, también fomentan procesos como la mercantilización de valores patrimoniales. En este contexto, el artículo tiene como objetivo diagnosticar las demandas y necesidades del sector turístico en el proceso de conservación del patrimonio cultural. La metodología propuesta responde a los retos actuales de valorar el patrimonio y examinar las oportunidades de desarrollo para el turístico sostenible, y como desafío identifica estrategias claves de actuación orientadas a criterios de sostenibilidad y responsabilidad en la interconexión entre conservación, preservación, recuperación y utilización turística del Patrimonio en Trinidad de Cuba.

  In Trinidad, as in a few other places in Cuba, there are physical, natural, historical and cultural elements which are ideal for the development of multiple modalities of tourism. Advances in the domestic and foreign policy of Cuba have driven the empowerment of small private companies and the opening of the real estate market, which, while generating economic and social benefits, also encourages processes such as the commercialization of heritage values. In this context, the article aims to diagnose the demands and needs of the tourism sector in the process of conservation of cultural heritage. The proposed methodology deals with the current challenges of valuing heritage and examining development opportunities for sustainable tourism, and as a challenge, it identifies key strategies for action based on sustainability and responsibility criteria in the interconnection among conservation, preservation, recovery and tourism use of the heritage in Trinidad of Cuba.
