The Castellet pothole (La Vilavella, Castellón) is a tectonic cave that present importants processes of corrosion by condensation, associated to an underlying thermal aquifer. The expansion of the cave due to this process is revealed in the upper zones and some points of the lower zone, reaching the entrance. This internal speleogenetic mechanism shows its hypogenic influence, being able to classify the cave inside the type "smoking" shaft, being this the type less influenced by the aquifer. The warm temperature recorded in the cave helps to assert its influence with the thermal spring and it favors the environment where corrosion is generated.
