    A presente pesquisa visa retratar a atuação da CIDH frente às denúncias recebidas sobre as violações aos direitos humanos cometidas pelo Estado brasileiro durante o período da ditadura militar. Para que tal pesquisa pudesse ser realizada, foi feita uma revisão bibliográfica e a análise documental de cartas trocadas acerca de alguns dos casos levados à CIDH entre 1970 e 1975, suas respectivas contextualizações e soluções apresentadas pela referida organização. O artigo realiza uma abordagem acerca da CIDH e sua atuação no período da ditadura, utilizando como objeto de estudo os casos denunciados entre 1970 e 1975. A partir disso, foi avaliado o posicionamento da CIDH frente às denúncias recebidas no período e a efetividade da organização no que diz respeito à proteção aos direitos humanos.

    This research aims to portray the work of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights regarding the denunciations received about the human rights violations committed by the Brazilian State during the period of the military dictatorship. In order to carry out such research, I conducted a bibliographic review and documentary analysis of letters exchanged on some of the cases brought to the InterAmerican Commission on Human Rights between 1970 and 1975, analyzing their respective contextualization and the solutions presented by the organization. This article approaches the InterAmerican Commission on Human Rights and its work in the period of the dictatorship, using as object of study some of the cases denounced. Based on this, the position of the Inter-American Commission against the denunciations received during the period and the effectiveness of the organization regarding human rights were evaluated.
