    • AIn today's society, the concept of euthanasia has undergone a notable evolution and has become very widespread. It is no longer a question of an action dictated by the desire to guarantee a painless death, but of a technically efficacious intervention aimed at eliminating difficult cases. Underlying the propaganda in favor of euthanasia there is a conceptual misunderstanding; inducing death is an utterly disproportionate remedy, and is an action which tramples on the fundamental value of human life as such. The paradox of "medically assisted suicide" calls for reflection. Euthanasia is becoming a way of arbitrarily enacting a more efficacious "natural selection".
