  El presente artículo tiene una pretensión muy entusiasta, provocar un dialogo respetuoso del modo como se reflejan los pueblos en su propia historia. Un espejo que permita articular las voces que, a través de las memorias, nos indiquen el camino para comprender que un allá y un acá, no es solo una separación temporal y de lugar, por aquellos que se fueron sin dejar testimonio de su existencia, ni mucho menos entrar en un debate racial sobre el entendimiento de las comunidades negras. En este estudio se analizan las características históricas de una población afrodescendiente que, a pesar de padecer los horrores del conflicto armado en Colombia, su fuerza identitaria soportada en la memoria individual y colectiva le ha permitido procesos de representación social y de resistencia cultural. En términos metodológicos el artículo aborda el método de consulta a la memoria colectiva, donde se realizaron las entrevistas a profundidad aplicadas a los sabedores (adultos mayores de la comunidad). que se articulan al análisis del mito etiológico, el procesos de poblamiento original, las creencias, ritos, y las más notables manifestaciones culturales en Rocha. Además, se estable una categoría fundamental de interpretación que es la de topofilia. En esta investigación se combinan el acervo documental, con la trasmisión oral de tal suerte que facilite una compresión holística de la población. Se muestran también los desafíos en relación con los conflictos actuales que se viven en la comarca.

  This article has a very enthusiastic claim, to provoke a respectful dialogue of the way people are reflected in their own history. A mirror that allows articulating the voices that, through the memories, indicate the way to understand that there and there are not only a temporary separation and place, for those who left without leaving testimony of their existence, or let alone enter into a racial debate about the understanding of black communities. This study analyzes the historical characteristics of an Afro-descendant population that, despite suffering the horrors of the armed conflict in Colombia, its identity force supported by individual and collective memory has allowed it processes of social representation and cultural resistance. In methodological terms, the article deals with the method of consultation of collective memory, where in-depth interviews were applied to the connoisseurs (older adults of the community), who are articulated to the analysis of the etiological myth, the original population processes, the beliefs, rites, and the most notable cultural manifestations in Rocha. In addition, a fundamental category of interpretation is established, that of topofilia. In this investigation the documentary collection is combined with the oral transmission of such luck that it facilitates a holistic understanding of the population. The challenges in relation to the current conflicts in the region are also shown.
