    El artículo trata sobre la época histórica-cultural y la recepción crítica de la obra narrativa de la escritora chilena María Carolina Geel en la escena literaria nacional. Se entregará una visión del campo cultural con énfasis en la década de los 50 (década más fructífera de su obra) para dar respuesta a la pregunta: ¿Con qué lidiaba la mujer escritora en la segunda mitad del siglo XX en Chile? Y, por consiguiente, demostrar que su producción literaria es afín con las inquietudes y características estéticas de la época y su generación; a contracorriente de la exclusión que debió afrontar

    The following paper discusses the work of the Chilean writer Maria Carolina Geel giving an account of the historical-cultural period and the critical reception of her narrative pieces in the literary scene. A vision of the cultural field will be given, with an emphasis on the 50s (the most fruitful decade of her work) to answer the question: What did the female writer deal with in the second half on the 20th century in Chile? And therefore, demonstrate that her literary production is akin to the concerns and aesthetic characteristics of the time and her generation; going against the exclusion that she had to face
