    : Utiel, población del interior de la Comunidad Valenciana, se encuentra alejada de los circuitos turísticos habituales y es insuficiente su reconocimiento pese a contar con un patrimonio histórico, cultural y paisajístico notable. La población posee un conjunto etnológico de primer orden: las bodegas subterráneas. Estos recintos ocupan una red de galerías, muchas de ellas de origen medieval, que suponen un modelo singular de arquitectura excavada y uno de los mejores ejemplos de bodegas tradicionales existentes actualmente en la Comunidad Valenciana.

    El Ayuntamiento de Utiel ha llevado a cabo la recuperación de las bodegas subterráneas ubicadas en la calle de la Puerta Nueva con el objetivo final de crear un itinerario turístico enfocado a difundir, no solo la historia de las bodegas subterráneas, sino, además, la multitud de oficios y ocupaciones asociados a esa actividad que fue el motor económico de la zona y una de las señas de identidad de Utiel: el cultivo y elaboración del vino.

    Utiel, a town in the interior of the Valencian Community, is far from the usual tourist circuits and its recognition is insufficient despite having a remarkable historical, cultural and landscape heritage. The population has an ethnological group of the first order: the underground cellars. These enclosures occupy a network of galleries, many of them of medieval origin, which represent a unique model of excavated architecture and one of the best examples of traditional wineries currently existing in the Valencian Community.

    The City Council of Utiel has carried out the recovery of the underground cellars located on Puerta Nueva street with the ultimate objective of creating a tourist itinerary focused on spreading not only the history of the underground cellars, but also the multitude of trades and occupations associated with that activity that was the economic engine of the area and one of the hallmarks of Utiel: the cultivation and production of wine.
