Competições de futebol em categorias iniciais: objetivos e sentidos para os dirigentes de clubes e da federação paulista de futebol

    More and more Brazilian children are beginning to practice soccer. In this context, the managers are a fundamental role in the organization of new forms of events that do not reproduce the high performance sport in childhood and adolescence. The aim of this study was to investigate the perspectives of clubs and the Paulista Football Federation managers in Brazil, on the goals and directions of the competitions promoted by this institution in the U-11 and U-13 age groups. This research is based on a qualitative approach through semi-structured interviews, and thematically analyzed, with a manager of the São Paulo Football Federation, and managers responsible for the youth sport departments of clubs participating in these competitions. As result we have: the prevalence of the official meaning over the alternative one in the speeches of the football managers;

    managers' concern about the human development of young athletes through moral values taught by sport; objectives of selection and evaluation of new talents for high performance. It can be seen that some actions described are intended to transform the forms of competition in this environment.

    However, aspects related to the promotion of soccer players greatly interfere in other senses of competitive soccer practice, which makes changes difficult.

    Cada vez mais crianças brasileiras se iniciam na prática do futebol. Neste contexto, os dirigentes são parte fundamental na organização de novas formas de eventos que não reproduzam o esporte de alto rendimento na infância e adolescência. O objetivo deste estudo foi investigar as perspectivas de dirigentes de clubes e da Federação Paulista de Futebol, Brasil, sobre os objetivos e sentidos das competições promovidas por esta instituição às categorias Sub-11 e Sub-13. Esta pesquisa se baseia em uma abordagem qualitativa através de entrevistas semiestruturadas, e tematicamente analisada, com dirigente da Federação Paulista de Futebol, e gestores responsáveis pelos departamentos de base de clubes participantes destas competições. Como resultados, tem-se: prevalência ao sentido oficial sobre o sentido ressignificado nos discursos dos dirigentes de futebol; preocupação dos dirigentes quanto ao desenvolvimento humano dos jovens atletas através de valores morais ensinados pelo esporte; objetivos de seleção e avaliação do processo de formação e promoção de novos talentos para o alto rendimento. Pode-se perceber que algumas ações descritas têm a intenção de transformar as formas de competição neste ambiente. Porém, aspectos relacionados à promoção de jogadores de futebol interferem sobremaneira em outros sentidos da prática competitiva do futebol, o que torna difícil a ressignificação.
