Resumen de Castellnovo, de la fortificació andalusí al palau renaixentista, descobrint els canvis

  El castell de Castellnovo ha estat objecte de diverses intervencions arqueològiques realitzades en dos àmbits diferents. Entre 1991-1997 se centraren a l’interior del palau renaixentista que està situat al capdamunt del turonet i manté un grau de conservació acceptable. Des de 2015 fins a l’actualitat s’ha actuat entorn a la torre nord de la muralla andalusí que recorre el perímetre inferior del turó. Les intervencions han tingut com a objectiu últim la posada en valor del patrimoni arqueològic i arquitectònic monumental existent, així com contribuir al seu coneixement, consolidació i conservació.

  El treball té la voluntat de posar al dia els resultats obtinguts fins ara, i donar a conéixer les troballes efectuades per a mostrar els canvis ocorreguts des de la construcció del recinte fortificat andalusí fins a l’aixecament d’un singular palau renaixentista que funcionà com a residència senyorial en època baix medieval.

  The castle of Castellnovo has undergone various archaeological excavations in two separate areas. Between 1991 and 1997, work was carried out on the interior of the reasonably well conserved Renaissance palace located at the top of the rocky outcrop. Since 2015, excavations have taken place on the north tower of the al-Andalus wall that surrounds the lower perimeter of the crag. The purpose of these interventions was to draw attention to this archaeological and architectural heritage, and contribute to publicising, consolidating and conserving the site.

  The aim of the study is to document the results obtained to date, and to disseminate the work undertaken to reveal the changes that took place from the initial construction of the al-Andalus fortress to the building of a singular Renaissance palace used as a stately home in the lower medieval period.
