  Este trabajo consistió en elaborar la cartografía de atractivos turísticos del biocorredor estuario del río Portoviejo, con el propósito de generar un impacto positivo en las actividades turísticas de las comunidades ubicadas dentro del mismo. El espacio geográfico estudiado es la desembocadura del río Portoviejo en el océano Pacífico, específicamente en los límites entre los cantones Portoviejo y Sucre, provincia de Manabí, Ecuador, donde se localizan comunidades de las parroquias Crucita y Charapotó. Para elaborar la cartografía se realizó un análisis de cada comunidad a través de visitas de campo, con lo cual se creó un inventario de sus recursos y atractivos. Posteriormente se diseñó una ruta ecoturística para darle mayor valor a los principales atractivos, que en su mayoría son de índole natural. La elaboración de los mapas turísticos de cada comunidad, así como el mapa general de la ruta ecoturística y el mapa de las rutas de acceso al biocorredor se hizo con la ayuda del programa ArcGIS 10.2. Como resultado, la cartografía diseñada muestra con detalles los atractivos turísticos más importantes, y según la opinión de los habitantes y turistas que llegan al sector, resulta de mucha ayuda para potenciar el turismo local.

  This work consisted of preparing the cartography of tourist attractions of the Portoviejo river estuary biocorridor with the purpose of generating a positive impact on the tourist activities of the communities located within it. The geographic space studied is the mouth of the Portoviejo River in the Pacific Ocean, specifically in the boundaries between the cantons Portoviejo and Sucre, province of Manabí, Ecuador, where communities of the Crucita and Charapotó parishes are located. to carry out the cartography, an analysis of each community was carried out through field visits, which created an inventory of its resources and attractions. Later an ecotourism route was designed to give greater value to the main attractions, which are mostly of a natural area. The elaboration of the tourist maps of each community, as well as the general map of the ecotourism route designed in this work and the map of the access routes to the bio-corridor was made with the help of the ArcGIS 10.2 program. As a result, the cartography designed shows in detail the most important tourist attractions, and according to the opinion of the inhabitants and tourists who come to the sector, it is very helpful to boost local tourism.
