Resumen de Ferromanganese deposits associated to the Cadiz Contourite Channel: imprints of the Mediterranean Outflow Water

Ferromanganese nodules fields were recently discovered associated to the Cadiz Contourite Channe lwithin the Gulf of Cadiz. Based on submarine photographic tracks, geophysical, mineralogical and geochemical evidences we propose a model for the genesis and evolution of aforementioned nodules. The interaction of the Mediterranean Outflow Water with the continental margin has determined the Late Pleistocene-Holocene ferromanganese mineral deposits formation, in parallel to the evolution of the contourite depositional system triggered by climatic events.
