Este trabajo tiene como finalidad analizar la figura femenina en dos novelas fundacionales como son Cecilia Valdés de Cirilo Villaverde y La Esclava Isaura de Bernardo Guimarães. Para ello, ingresaremos al análisis desde tres perspectivas, la primera, el blanqueamiento o mestizaje en el ingreso a la modernidad a través de los conceptos de raza, nación y clase; posteriormente, la figura de la mulata en la construcción de la nación y, finalmente, la exotización del cuerpo femenino en los personajes.
The purpose of this research is to analyze the female figure in two foundational novels, such as Cecilia Valdés by Cirilo Villaverde and La Esclava Isaura by Bernardo Guimarães. We will analyze from three perspectives, the first one, whitening or miscegenation in the entrance to modernity through the concepts of race, nation and class; second, the figure of the female mulatto in the construction of the nation and, finally, the exotizatio n of the female body in the characters.
