  En este trabajo se revisa la génesis y la evolución de dos locuciones adverbiales cuya andadura textual se inicia en el español del Siglo de Oro, y que se ajustan a una misma estructura, la de los denominados binomios irreversibles. El análisis histórico de ni por esas ni por esotras y sin ton ni son permite conocer su historia particular, pero revela también datos relevantes para el conocimento de este tipo peculiar de unidad fraseológica. La información que aportan los diccionarios de distintas épocas respecto del significado o de la lengua funcional en la que se utilizan estas dos secuencias no siempre coincide con los datos hallados en las fuentes textuales.

  This article analyzes the genesis and evolution of two adverbial phrases whose textual life began in the Golden Age Spanish and which show the same structure, that of the so-called irreversible binomials. The diachronic study of the expressions ni por esas ni por esotras y sin ton ni son contributes to the description of their individual history but also provides relevant knowledge of the peculiarities of the binomial category. Dictionaries of several periods comprise information on the meaning and functional use of these units that does not always correspond to the data found in textual sources.
