El turismo influye en la cultura, la educación y la salud de las personas. La actividad turística y los beneficios que aporta son estudiados desde varias disciplinas. La relación entre turismo y educación es estudiada y analizada por investigadores de varias áreas de conocimiento y desde la mitad del siglo XX en adelante con mayor frecuencia. Concretamente, el número de documentos que versan sobre la importancia del turismo en la educación ha ido creciendo en los últimos años, principalmente desde 2005 hasta nuestros días. El país que más ha investigado este tema ha sido EEUU, seguido de Austria y en tercer lugar Reino Unido. España ocupa el sexto lugar en el estudio de estas variables. Las áreas de conocimiento que más publicaciones han realizado han sido las Ciencias Sociales con el 50,56 % y Negocios y Empresa con un 39,84 % de toda la producción, respectivamente. En este trabajo hemos analizado la relación positiva que existe entre el turismo y la educación y para ello presentamos un análisis bibliométrico de la literatura científica sobre turismo y educación desde 1966 hasta la fecha (más de 50 años). Este estudio permite analizar la evolución de las últimas investigaciones realizadas en el campo del turismo y la educación, así como las principales instituciones, países y autores de la comunidad científica en esta materia.

Tourism influences in the culture, education and health of the people. The activity of tourism and its benefits are studied from several disciplines. The relation between tourism and education is studied and analyzed by researchers from different knowledge areas. It became more usual from the middle of 20th century onwards. Specifically, the number of documents on the importance of tourism in the education, has been growing in the last years, mainly since 2005 until our days. The country which research mostly about this topic is United States, followed by Austria and in the third place United Kingdom. Spain ranks sixth in the study of these variables. The knowledge areas that have been realized more publications are Social Sciences with 50,56 %, Business and Enterprise with 39,84 % of whole production, respectively. This research analyzes the positive relation that exists between tourism and education, and for that we present bibliometric analysis of scientific literature about tourism and education since 1966 until the present (more than 50 years). This study allows to analyze the evolution of last performed investigations about tourism and education, as well as, the main institutions, countries and authors of scientific community on this matter.
