A computer‐linked pupil‐simulator which provides student‐teachers with pre‐classroom teaching experience is discussed. Forty female teachers, in two groups, individually taught three consecutive lessons about mathematical sets. For one group “ student “ performance gradually improved and for the second teaching group “ student “ performance gradually deteriorated. In their ratings of student answers given on tests administered after each lesson teachers demonstrated a strong primacy effect.
