    The present study aimed to verify the historical and legal reasons that led to the creation of the jurisdiction of Palmas, in the State of Paraná, in the late nineteenth century, more precisely in 1896. It was proceeded to the historical and geographical delineation of the region, object of this study, to enable complete understanding of the motivations and needs of the region. Still, after there, was a retrospective of the Judiciary of the State of Paraná, with the culmination of the installation of the jurisdiction of the City of Palmas.

    O presente trabalho teve por objetivo a verificação das motivações históricas e jurídicas que culminaram com a criação da Comarca de Palmas, no Estado do Paraná, no final do século XIX, mais precisamente no ano de 1896. Para tanto, procedeu-se ao delineamento histórico e geográfico da região, objeto do presente estudo, para possibilitar o completo entendimento das justificativas e necessidades da região. Ainda, na sequência, houve uma retrospectiva do Poder Judiciário Paranaense, com a culminação da instalação da Comarca da cidade de Palmas.
