    El tratamiento moral de Pinel suele ser tomado como punto de referencia en los antecedentes teóricos de la Terapia Ocupacional. El estudio de la historia de la psiquiatría española, recoge cómo Pinel reproduciría en Francia las "terapias ocupacionales" o "laborterapia" de los Hospitales Psiquiátricos de Valencia y Zaragoza que se realizaban durante el s. XV. Sin embargo, en la literatura hay un vacío sobre la raíces de la terapia ocupacional en España. Habrá que esperar hasta los años 60 del Siglo XX para que la Terapia Ocupacional se institucionalice en nuestro país, con la creación de la Escuela Nacional de Terapia Ocupacional, bajo la dirección de D. Heliodoro Ruiz García. El objetivo del presente trabajo es conocer la figura de D. Heliodoro Ruiz en este proceso, para entender una parte de la historia reciente de la terapia ocupacional española

    The treatment moral of Pinel tends to be taken as a reference point in the background theorists of the Occupational Therapy. The study of the history of the spanish psychiatry, picks how Pinel reproduced in France "occupational therapies" or "ergotherapy" from Psychiatric Hospitals in Valencia and Zaragoza were carried out during the s. XV. However, in literature there is a vacuum on the roots of the occupational therapy in Spain. We have to wait until the 1960 for the Occupational Therapy to be institutionalized in our country, with the creation of the National School of Occupational Therapy, under the direction of D. Heliodoro Ruiz Garcia. The objective of this work is to know the figure of D. Heliodoro Ruiz in this process, to understand a part of the recent history of the spanish occupational therapy
