  Durante el siglo pasado la representación de la literatura del exilio republicano femenino ha sido limitada y habría que esperar el final de la dictadura de Franco para rescatar del olvido las vivencias de la Guerra Civil que llevó a miles de españoles y españolas a cruzar fronteras y mares para salvarse la vida huyendo de la cárcel y en peores casos de la muerte. Fue en las últimas décadas del siglo XX y a principio del corriente cuando se marcó una producción literaria prolífera en el exilio femenino verbigracia Desde la otra orilla de Helia y Alicia Beltrán y Los diablos Sueltos de Mada Carreño. De modo que, es importante ver cómo la historia se vuelve literatura y cómo el testimonio coge nuevas formas literarias y nutre los diferentes géneros literarios como la autobiografía, las memorias y las novelas. Así, el estudio de la experiencia del exilio femenino en Argelia y Francia a través de esas obras literarias basadas en testimonios pone de relieve la importancia de la literatura en la recuperación de la memoria histórica de España.

  During the last century the representation of the literature of the republican feminine exile has been limited, and it would be necessary to wait for the end of the Franco dictatorship to rescue from oblivion the experiences of the Civil War that took thousands of Spaniards and Spaniards to cross borders and seas to save their lives fleeing from prison and in worse cases from death. It was in the last decades of the 20th century and at the beginning of the current when a prolific literary production was marked whose leitmotif was the female exile, such as Desde la otra orilla of Helia and Alicia Beltrán and Los Diablos Sueltos by Mada Carreño. Therefore, it is important to see how history turns literature, and how the testimony takes new literary forms and nurtures the different literary genres such as autobiography, memories and novels. Thus, the study of the experience of female exile in Algeria and France through these literary works based on testimonies highlights the importance of literature in the recovery of the historical memory of Spain.
