Resumen de Nuevos caminos en la teoría de lo fantástico: El tiempo y su subversión

  Si bien la ficción ha planteado, sobre todo a partir de principios del siglo XX, por caminos diversos la inquietante subversión del tiempo lineal y sucesivo en el que vivimos atrapados, resulta sorprendente la escasez de estudios sobre lo fantástico (teóricos, tematológicos, históricos) dedicados a analizar las complejas relaciones que esta categoría establece con el tiempo. El trabajo que aquí presento se propone como una revisión de esos pocos estudios dedicados a dicho tema, analizando las razones de dicha escasez, así como los aportes y, sobre todo, los problemas generales que suelen presentar (el principal: estudiar de modo conjunto las alteraciones fantásticas del tempo y del espacio como si ambos conformaran una única categoría), para rei-vindicar el estudio independiente de la subversión del tempo como nueva vía para ahondar en la definición de lo fantástico.

  Especially since the beginning of the twentieth century, fiction has studied the disturbing subversion of linear and successive time in which we are all trapped. However, the studies on the complex relationships between time and the fantastic are surprisingly scarce. The present article proposes a review of the few studies dedicated to this topic. First, the reasons for this scarcity, as well as the strengths and, especially, the usual problems of these works—i.e. to study the fantastic alterations of time and space as if both made up a single category—will be analyzed. In turn, the present pa-per postulates the necessity for the independent study of the subversion of time as a new way to delve into the definition of the fantastic.
