Resumen de Modernización de la sanidad. ¿Qué ha supuesto la COVID-19?

  Al finalizar el año 2019 no podíamos imaginar la situación actual en la que se encuentra la sanidad a nivel mundial, tanto pública como privada.

  La situación provocada por la pandemia de la COVID-19 genera un enfoque diferente de la Sanidad. No se puede negar que hay y habrá un antes y un después de la actual crisis sanitaria. El nuevo enfoque exige una visión sistémica de la salud, donde factores como la calidad de vida, el acceso a los sistemas sanitarios, las políticas de protección social o el medio ambiente, van a ser más determinantes que nunca.

  Por este motivo y, por la responsabilidad que exige la nueva realidad que todavía en este momento desconocemos, el artículo se va a basar en una reflexión sobre qué y cómo se ha desarrollado la sanidad pública, y cuáles son los retos que se nos plantean en un futuro próximo.

  Seguramente la situación va a exigir realizar cambios y transformaciones más aceleradas de lo que planteábamos, pero nuestra sanidad pública universal, siempre ha sabido responder a los retos que se le han planteado. Se requiere más que nunca una estrategia ampliamente compartida que permita ofrecer a la ciudadanía una respuesta adecuada.

  At the end of 2019 we could not imagine the current situation of health care worldwide, both public and private.

  The situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic generates a different approach to Health. there is no denying that there is and will be a before and after the current health crisis. The new approach requires a systemic vision of health, where factors such as quality of life, access to health systems, social protection policies or the environment, will be more decisive than ever.

  For this reason and, due to the responsibility demanded by the new reality that we still do not know so far, my article will be based on a reflection on what and how public health has developed, and what are the challenges we face in a near future Surely the situation will require us to make changes and transformations faster than we thought, but our universal public health has always been able to respond to the challenges it has been presented with. More than ever, a widely shared strategy is required to offer citizens an adequate response.
