This article reflects on the life of Mariano Cubí y Soler as a renowned Spanish language educator who made significant contributions in the field of Spanish language pedagogy and who deserves to be recognized. Furthermore, the authors of this article acknowledge Professor Cubí y Soler’s work in the field of linguistics as the foundation for today’s thriving Spanish language education in the United States
