    O presente artigo tem como objetivo apresentar três importantes dimensões contidas no livro Significado do Protesto Negro(compilação de textos, publicado em 1989) que permite analisar criticamente as expectativas que Florestan Fernandes nutriu em relação ao papel do agente negro na transformação radical da sociedade brasileira. Mesmo tratando-se de textos com diferentes contextos, as preocupações centrais aqui foram as noções formuladas e/ou refletidas por Florestan Fernandes que permitiu observar o espaço do agente negro em suas formulações. Neste sentido, a análise foi feita a partir da reflexão em torno das noções de Segunda Abolição, Mito da Democracia Racial e a interseçãoraça-classe –, dimensões fundamentais para a fundação do revolucionário socialista negro de Fernandes.

    This article aims to present three important dimensions contained in the book Meaning of the Black Protest (compilation of texts, published in 1989) that allows to critically analyze the expectations that Florestan Fernandes had in relation to the role of the black agent in the radical transformation of Brazilian society. Even in the case of texts with different contexts, the central concerns here were the notions formulated and/or reflected by Florestan Fernandes, which allowed observing the space of the black agent in his formulations. In this sense, the analysis was made from the reflection around the notions of Second Abolition, Myth of Racial Democracy and the race-class intersection - fundamental dimensions for the foundation of Fernandes' black socialist revolutionary.
