  • The Southwest Iberian Margin is caracterized by an intense and diffuse seismic activity due to the convergence between Eurasian and African plates. The aim of the next study is to set the different structures and sedimentological and acoustic facies on Sâo Vicente Canyon from TOBY mosaics,TOPAS profiler, Swath bathymetric, acoustic backscatter and multichannel seismic images. SäoVicente Canyon is settled in a syncline where we identified several active faults in the bottom (SäoVicente Faults and Horseshoe Faults). The tectonic activity has continued until present, demostra-ted in one hand because actual shallow origin of actual earthquake hypocentres and in a second hand by presence of step escarpments along the thrust trace. These faults control the canyon direction which is suggested by the angular trace and on BIGSETS seismic profiles. The canyon tloorappears highly reflective on TOBI mosaic due to be the rock outcrops. Furthermore, there are a big amount of acoustic facies which correspond with different sedimentological facies.
