Resumen de Relación entre los procesos atmosféricos y oceánicos a escala milenaria a partir del registro climático de los últimos 50.000 años del Mar de Alborán (Mediterráneo Occidental)

A. Moreno, Eva Isabel Cacho Lascorz, Miquel Canals Artigas, Joan Grimalt Obrador, Francisco Javier Sierro Sánchez

  • A wide multi-proxy dataset obtained from the extensively studied IMAGES core MD95-2043 recovered in the Alboran Sea (Western Mediterranean) is selected to analyze periodicities and phase relationships of the different oceanographic and atmospheric processes investigated at the millennial time-scale. The 1,470-yr cycle is the most significant cycle for the considered records with theexception of those reflecting conditions on land that show the higher significance at 3,300 and8,000 frequency bands. This study allows establishing the evolution of oceanographic and atmospheric mechanisms that influenced the Western Mediterranean region in the course of a Dans-gaard/Oeschger cycle thus making possible land-sea comparison in terms of timing of the different climatic processes.
