  • Resumen
    • The knowledge on Lower Cretaceous ornithopod dinosaurs form the Iberian Peninsula, described since the last quarter of 19th century, is updated. Remains are found in Lower Berriasian and Lower Hauterivian-Middle Albian sediments, and are usually fragmentary and non-diagnostic, isolated teeth being the most abundant ones. Currently, hypsilophodontids, dryosaurids, "iguanodontids",an euornithopod of uncertain affinities, and possible heterodontosaurids and hadrosaurs have beenidentified, in most cases left in open nomenclature. The only named species is the possible hete-rodontosaurid Trimucrodon cuneatus Thu I born, 1973 from the Lower Berriasian? of Porto Pinheiro(Estremadura, Portugal); the dryosaurid "Camptosaurus" valdensis Lydekker 1889 and the iguano-dontid Iguanodon bernissartensis Boulenger, 1881 have been identified in the Hauterivian-Barre-mian of Salas de los Infantes (Burgos, Spain) and the Lower Aptian of Morelia (Castellón, Spain),respectively. The presence of Hypsilophodon foxii Huxley: 1869 in the Iberian Peninsula can notbe confirmed with the available material; the partial skeleton described in Poyales (Calve, Teruel,Spain; Lower Barremian) as H. foxii pertains to a new genus and species of hypsilophodontid dinosaur, not yet named. The iguanodontid" remains from La Maca (Galve; Lower Barremian) andZorralbo (Golmayo, Soria, Spain; upper Hauterivian-lowermost Barremian) could be two newunnamed species not assignable to the genus Iguanodon.
