  • We describe an isolated dinosaur bone found in marine sediments of the Upper Aptian of the Iberian Range. The bone was found in the Oliete Formation at Oliete (Teruel province, Spain), a smalllocality geologically placed in the Maestrazgo Basin, Oliete Sub-basin. Dinosaur and other terrestrial vertebrate remains are sometimes found in sediments deposited in marine environments, butthis is the first vertebrate bone described in this formation. It is almost complete, with only its proximal and distal ends missing, and it has been identified as a right ulna. The ulna is straight andrelatively narrow, with a modest olecranon process. Its morphology is related with a bipedal dinosaur with a well developed fore limb. It is consistent with an ornithopod dinosaur different to bothFlypsilophodon and Iguanodon, and it is therefore assigned to an indeterminate ornithopod. Thisbone represents the first ornithopod dinosaur in the Aptian of the Teruel province and the first dinosaur in the Upper Aptian of Spain.
