  • Resumen
    • Sauropoda Titanosauriformes remains from the Lower Cretaceous in the supercontinent Laurasiaare generally scarce and fragmentary with some exceptions. The femur is one of the importantbones in the identification of Titanosauriformes clade. An exceptional specimen (PT sauropod) withboth femora has been discovered in Lower Aptian (Xert Formation) from Peñarroya de Tastavins(Teruel). In this specimen, the femora are straight; mostly rectangular except for the medial broadening at the femur head and the distal condyle. The shaft of the femora has a rectangular outlinein anterior and posterior views except of the level of the lateral bulge, where the lateral deflectionon the proximal one-third is well marked. The fourth trochanter consists of a slightly curved andelongated crests with medial concavity; shows a depression on both lateral and medial sides. ThePT sauropod femora shares diagnostically characters with other Titanosauriformes from Europe,North America and Asia. Consequently, our hypothesis is the existence of a Titanosauriformesgroup ("Laurasian Titanosauriformes") different of Titanosauria, Brachiosauridae and Euhelopidae, and different of Titanosauriformes from Gondwana.
