Resumen de El «canvi i caiguda de preposicions» en el ‘Tirant lo Blanch’

  This paper makes a small contribution to the study of the historical foundations of contemporary normative grammar (Pompeu Fabra, the Gramàtica normativa valenciana and the Gramàtica de la llengua catalana) in the field of the so-called “change and deletion of prepositions”. At the same time, this paper contributes to the knowledge of Catalan historical syntax. The research is limited to Tirant lo Blanch, the most important work in the canon of authorities in Fabra’s grammars. The results show that in Tirant, systematically, the preposition does not precede the conjunction que introducing finite subordinate clauses, which confirms the coherence of Fabra’s position in this point, and also justifies that the GNV and the GIEC have maintained his approach. On the other hand, before non-finite subordinate clauses the substitution of the prepositions en and ab for a and de is not a phenomenon that characterizes Tirant. This medieval novel seems to reflect a complex situation, not fully studied yet. In this respect, Fabra’s rule had, therefore, weaker historical foundations, and the modification of the normative position seems justified enough.

  En aquest treball es fa una petita contribució a l’estudi de la fonamentació històrica de la normativa gramatical contemporània (la de Fabra, la de la Gramàtica normativa valenciana i la de la Gramàtica de la llengua catalana de l’IEC) en relació amb l’anomenat «canvi i caiguda de preposicions», i alhora es contribueix al coneixement de la sintaxi històrica del català. La recerca se circumscriu al Tirant lo Blanch. Els resultats mostren que l’absència de preposició davant de la conjunció que introductora de completives és sistemàtica en el Tirant, amb què es confirma la coherència de la posició de Fabra i s’explica que la GNV i la GIEC n’hagin estat continuadores. En canvi, la substitució, davant d’infinitiu, de les preposicions de règim verbal en i ab per a i de no és un fenomen que caracteritzi el Tirant, que reflecteix una situació complexa. La norma de Fabra a propòsit d’aquest punt tenia, doncs, una fonamentació històrica més feble, i la modificació de la posició normativa sembla prou justificada
