El presente trabajo reconstruye las circunstancias que rodearon la muerte de Isabel II, ocurrida el 9 de abril de 1904 en el parisino Palacio de Castilla. Se traza el recorrido que siguieron sus restos desde las honras fúnebres que le tributó París hasta el real entierro celebrado en El Escorial. Se ofrece asimismo un análisis del testamento de la reina, redactado en francés en 1901, como testimonio de sus últimas voluntades y afectos. Gracias a la documentación de la testamentaría localizada en el Archivo Secreto de la Casa Real de Baviera, se reconstruye el largo proceso de la liquidación y reparto de los bienes que Isabel de Borbón atesoraba a su muerte en París.

This article reconstructs the circumstances surrounding the death of Isabella II at the Palais de Castille in Paris on 9 April 1904. It traces the journey of her mortal remains from the funeral ceremony with which Paris paid tribute to her to the royal burial at El Escorial. It also analyses the queen's will, drawn up in French in 1901, as a testament to her last wishes and affections. Thanks o the document relating to her estate in the Secret Archives of the Royal House of Bavaria, it ends by reconstructing the long process of selling off and distributing the possessions owned by Isabella of Bourbon at her death in Paris.
