    El presente trabajo es una primera aproximación al estudio del pensamiento milenarista medieval y su recepción en el Nuevo Mundo, a través de distintas manifestaciones, tales como la evangelización, el pensamiento y el arte. Para ello es preciso comprender la complejidad de los avatares acaecidos en la Europa de la Edad Media y su asimilación de las ideas escatológicas provenientes de las Sagradas Escrituras para luego interpretar la recepción de las mismas en las colonias americanas. Esto podría interpretarse como manifestaciones espirituales que constituyen un nexo entre la Europa medieval y el Nuevo Mundo. Por consiguiente, se busca una interpretación de la mentalidad medieval cristiana a través de rupturas y continuidades en la historia, más allá de las fronteras geográficas y culturales, constituyéndose así un fundamento unificador del cristianismo.

    This work is a first approach to the study of medieval millenarian thought and its reception in the New World through different manifestations, such as evangelization, thought and art. To do this it is necessary to understand the complexity of the vicissitudes that occurred in Europe in the Middle Ages and their assimilation of eschatological ideas from the Sacred Scriptures in order to later interpret their reception in the American colonies. This could be interpreted as spiritual manifestations that constitute a nexus between medieval Europe and the New World. Consequently, an interpretation of the medieval Christian mentality is sought through ruptures and continuities in history, beyond geographical and cultural borders, thus constituting a unifying foundation of Christianity.
